Halák pôsobil v poslednej sezóne v New Yorku Rangers, kde odchytal 25 zápasov s úspešnosťou zákrokov 90,3%.
Celkovo odohral v kariére 581 zápasov v NHL (Montreal, St. Louis, Washington, New York Islanders, Boston, Vancouver a New York Rangers).
V prípade podpisu riadneho kontraktu pôjde už o jeho 18. sezónu v najlepšej lige sveta.

Goaltender Jaroslav Halak is joining the Hurricanes as a free agent tryout. Frederik Andersen is dealing with a medical issue and undergoing evaluations. An update will be provided when available, but no further comment will be issued until that time.
